ROYAL PALM TURKEYS

Royal Palm turkeys are an endangered heritage breed.  They are usually kept as an ornamental bird, since they are a medium sized turkey breed with remarkably stunning plumage.  

They make a beautiful addition to your homestead.  Toms are friendly, non-aggressive, and act like a general, keeping the peace between my roosters.  They are also excellent foragers and cold hardy birds.  They are very social birds that really seem to enjoy contact with humans.  They follow me around the pasture, like a dog would, all while puffing up and showing their amazing plumage and gobbling in unison.  We gobble at them and they gobble back: It is hilarious!  Why not add one to your flock, to make it a bit more royal?

Interested in farm raised turkey meat?  These guys have been pasture raised, and fed lots of fruits and vegetables.  They are hormone free and antibiotic free, so you can be sure you are getting healthy meat.   This is not the same as buying a frozen turkey from the supermarket! We butchered and smoked one several months ago, and it was delicious! 

 The males (Toms) typically weigh between 15 and 20 pounds.
